For many generations, this place in the old village center of Bitzen was an important meeting point: The milk stand! The community servant, known as "Schütz", announced community notices with the help of his "Ortsschelle" (local bell). The youth gathered to "hatch" pranks, and the elders met for a chat. The path from Au(Sieg) to Hamm(Sieg) is currently not accessible. The reason for this is that for about a year, no one from the responsible authorities has had the idea of removing the stones and rocks on the path. The path is closed for this reason and you are informed about it quite late.....
