On September 10, 2025, it happened again. This is one of the reasons why the stop must be preserved, along with many other, much more important reasons for the residents of the surrounding villages. For us, see https://www.komoot.de/tour/2567102335?ref=aso

“In the middle of nowhere” = request stop

🤚 Why do I recommend this station, a "stop" in today's Deutsche Bahn jargon, where the train only stops if you press the stop request button beforehand, and especially in good time, something I only knew from trams or buses until 2023, even though I've traveled a lot by train in my life? Not because I particularly like the station building. To be honest, I didn't even take a closer look. Nevertheless, this station was, in 2023 and 2024, and hopefully will be again in 2025, the starting point and starting point of what are probably the most beautiful e-bike tours to date in the border triangle of Hesse, Lower Saxony, and Thuringia, via Dingelstädt, the Kanonenbahn cycle path to Frieda, from there a detour to Wanfried and Treffurt, and finally home via Eschwege and Bad Sooden-Allendorf back to Witzenhausen. We couldn't have done it in this form, this experience, without this station, this stop. 💯That's why I "love" him. 😍

Some of the Unstrut cycle path leads over relatively busy country roads (e.g. near Dachrieden). This is definitely not nice and should be improved!
