Near the boat landing, a rusty boat hull protrudes from the water—the sculpture "Seegfrörne 2018" (Lake Freezing 2018), a symbolic reminder of the last time Lake Constance froze over in 1963. Its counterpart is located in the Swiss municipality of Altnau, across the lake, and commemorates the partnership between Hagnau and Altnau-Münsterlingen. In 1963, Lake Constance froze over so thickly that people could walk to the opposite Swiss shore. Following an old tradition, the residents of Hagnau carry the bust of St. John from the Catholic parish church in a large ice procession across to the monastery church in Münsterlingen, Switzerland. There it has waited ever since for the next time the lake freezes over, so that it can once again be carried across the ice to Hagnau. A large stone and its inscription also commemorate this event nearby, in front of the new harbor pavilion.

Anyone passing by the Burgunderhof should definitely take a look at the sculpture designed by Peter Lenk, known on Lake Constance for his provocative sculptures and reliefs. The following text is from: https://textdestille.de/kunstwerke-von-peter-lenk-am-bodensee-teil-2/ Village Saint in Hagnau "The last stop on the "Tour de Lenk" is the wine-growing village of Hagnau, 5 km from Meersburg. Since 2014, the Village Saint sculpture, commissioned by the owners of the farm, has stood at the Burgunderhof. It depicts Pastor Heinrich Hansjakob (1837-1916), who served as a pastor in Hagnau for several years. Hansjakob was also a writer and founded the Hagnau Winegrowers' Association, the first winegrowers' cooperative in Baden. Lenk's sculpture also addresses the clergyman's somewhat unchaste lifestyle, which brought him several illegitimate children."
