Here you'll find a small parking area, ideal for hikers. The Lippe meadows are perfect for a stroll, and the charming Hovestadt Castle is just a short walk away. If you head towards Herzfeld instead, you can admire St. Ida's Basilica and are spoiled for choice when it comes to places to eat and drink.

Small narrow forest patch in the Hovestadt forest behind the moated castle.

If you are nearby, it is worth taking the path behind the castle. The path is much more pleasant and beautiful to drive. From here you have a good view of the Hovestadt moated castle from the back. The alternative would be the road, but there is a lot of noise and traffic there, even at weekends. The view is also rather poor.

Perfect place for a break, located right on the roundabout in Herzfeld. Especially on Sundays it's a real nightmare with countless cyclists and bikers.
