Văcărești Natural Park is the first urban natural park in Romania, only 5 km away from the city centre, being also the largest green space in Bucharest, covering 183 ha. It was established in 2014 by a group of specialists in nature protection and the management of protected areas, who developed the project of establishing the park at a time when it seemed to be a utopia. Next to Văcărești Natural Park, on the last floor of the T4 block of flats in Asmita Gardens residential complex, the Observatory of Văcărești Natural Park offers the visitors a gorgeous panoramic view over the park, from 60 m height. The Observatory is open Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 6 pm, during the winter time. Access to the Observatory is free of charge; however, an appointment is required. https://parcnaturalvacaresti.ro/en/
