Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve features miles of paved and unpaved paths open to a variety of trail users. The Buffalo Trace Prairie area features most of the trails in the preserve and plays host to a load of different plant and animal species. There aren't any major hills, so this is a great place for everyone in the family.

You get pretty decent views from a bunch of different spots around the River Bend Forest Preserve, but no perspective is quite like this one. Being across the water from the main preserve entrance, this area usually offers a bit of solitude and great views of the water. A smooth gravel trail leads to this great viewpoint.
