Around 1,100 residents now live in Brody, the former gatehouse, about 12 kilometers northeast of Forst. The larger municipality of Brody also includes: Beitzsch, Datten, Grötzsch, Jaulitz, Jähnsdorf, Jeßnitz, Nieder Jeser, Hoh Jeser, Marienhain, Kohlo, Kummeltitz, Nablath/Nahberg, Drahthammer, Heideschäferei/Roggaische Mühle, Zauchel, Wirchenblatt and Forst-Berge as well as Scheuno (2016 = 3,770 inhabitants). An asphalted road leads from Forst to Lubsko (Sommerfeld) directly past the Forst town gate of Brody and separates the town of Brody into two parts. North of the gate we come to a closed town center, south of it, across the road, there is a gas station and behind it the cemetery. Several streets/paths (Triebeler Straße, Wolfsberg, Teuplitzer Weg, Leiper Weg) branch off south of the Forster Tor and, in addition to the places mentioned, also lead to Nablath/Nahberg.
