Inside the “house”, which used to be used as a shelter for charcoal burners and forest workers, there would have been more space than just a Spessart robber... quite spacious!

The Stone House is located between Rechtenbach and Lohr am Main am Rothenberg (456 m). It is about three kilometers (2.2 km as the crow flies) east of Rechtenbach in the district of Rothenberg, a former unincorporated area. The Steinernes Haus was used by forest and quarry workers as a shelter and occasionally as a place to sleep. Carvings date back to 1776. It is disputed whether it is natural or artificial in origin.
