Looking up, we already see the Gratzer rocks, in this section the trees around us have died. We look back, far into the distance. We reach the rock formation, we are now standing between the freestanding sandstone rocks, with boulders in between, as if someone had dropped them here. If we don't deny ourselves a little climb on them, we feel like we are in an adventure land. The rock formation is permeated with small caves everywhere. A fantastic landscape, we walk between the rocks, through the autumnal forest surrounded by moss and ferns, the sandstone now sounds dull, almost hollow under our feet. https://youtu.be/N2GgTh6HEzQ

In the lower church, we barely squeeze through the passage to the secret hiding place, where parts of the Prague Cathedral treasury were stored in 1421. Back outside, we're greeted by the library window, which served as the inspiration for Caspar David Friedrich's painting "The Dreamers." https://youtu.be/qvBJv_Fnfis

To the Dark Tilke As far as I know, the Dark Tilke is a former quarry. Stones for the construction of the Jonsdorf church were quarried there.

In the western part of the millstone quarries is the "Black Hole" quarry. About 50 meters deep, this rock cauldron with vertical walls is the largest and most interesting of the local millstone quarries. It is believed that quarrying started here in the late 16th or early 17th century. Later there were two independent fractures, the White Wall and the Black Hole, which were united in 1810 after the removal of the "Rotten Wall" standing between them. In 1914, because of the war in Russia, the export of millstones was suspended and stone quarrying stopped in most quarries, including the Black Hole. The abandoned quarry gradually grew overgrown until 1955. Then it was partially cleared during the development of the educational trail.
