Great sure-footedness, freedom from vertigo, time, good sturdy footwear, hiking poles, sufficient water are basic requirements for walking the Wutachflühen. Very narrow, partly exposed paths in jungle-like terrain 😍. Super beautiful but not to be underestimated. The stones and roots are partly very slippery even in dry weather, as it is quite humid there, especially at high temperatures, and there is a lot of moss everywhere.

The Wutachflühen form the spectacular lower section of the Wutach Gorge between Achdorf and Grimmelshofen. For around 3.5 kilometers, a narrow path leads through steep forest slopes and along mighty rock faces high above the river. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are essential here, as the path sometimes runs directly along the precipice. Especially after rain, the narrow paths can become slippery, while fallen trees or rockfalls require additional attention. However, the effort is rewarded with an impressive natural landscape. Time and again, views open up onto the deeply incised gorge and the wild-flowing Wutach. Together with the striking limestone rocks and the primeval forest-like sections, the Wutachflühen are among the most beautiful and varied hiking areas in the southern Black Forest.

A narrow path branches off from the wide forest path into the Devil's Kitchen. The small gorge is becoming increasingly narrower and, as is so often the case, the pictures cannot accurately reflect the truth. My hiking stick was also used.

But be careful when descending to the stairs and bridge, there is a branch. If you take that, you land in a somewhat adventurous manner directly under the waterfall and, at low tide, you can cross the creek bed to the bridge.

The small waterfall with a picturesque ravine and rocks is right next to the wide wooden path. If you want to wade through the creek a little, you can also watch the fall in the ditch itself.

"Tüüfelschuchi" is written on the board - who reads the small print also "Chotzegrabe" which I like very much. Looks impressive from above - unfortunately it is difficult or impossible to climb down.

After the steep ascent into the Tüffilischlucht you have a great view of the Randen ...
