Štrbački Buk Waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

Štrbački Buk is a fabulously beautiful place with a magnificent waterfall. The Una National Park is located almost directly on the Croatian-Bosnian border, approx. 25 km south of Bihać.
It is very large, but you can cycle through it perfectly with a mountain bike.
We ourselves chose entrance 1 and cycled approx. 14 km from there to the waterfall... the route itself is a gravel road... approx. 230 m of altitude gain... but then it feels like 700 m back down to the Una on the other side.
To continue, you can either go back or choose a longer tour, e.g. to entrance 3 to the south. We ourselves went over the mountains to entrance 2... you can only get to the top by pushing... but uphill a nice S 2 trail awaits you over washed-out gravel and stone tracks (our route as a screenshot in the pictures).
Tip and comparison:
While you (only on foot) visit the Plitvice Lakes in Croatia... it costs approx. 50,- Euro per person for entry and another approx. 15,- Euro for parking, depending on how long you stay... plus what feels like a million people... phew. In Una National Park, on the other hand... 3.50 Euro per person for entry and free parking !!
At the waterfall, no one says anything if you want to go swimming there (just walk down the wooden boardwalk all the way to the bottom, there's a good opportunity to get into the water safely)... there's also everything else you need there... toilet, drinks and food... definitely try the Bosnian coffee...🤩
Well... got curious? then maybe on your next vacation go there and explore the magnificent landscape yourself. 🤗

Mlinčići Water Mills

Highlight • Monument

Veliko and Malo Plivsko jezero offer a lot of sports and recreational opportunities. On the shores of the lakes and around the mentioned mills, there were people who enjoyed fishing, picnicking and playing in the park and canoeing. We also saw a lot of cyclists, hikers and a few swimmers, but we could hardly find a parking space. Despite the hustle and bustle, visiting the mills was a special experience. If your journey happens to take you to the mentioned places or past them, I highly recommend them.

Jajce City Centre

Highlight • Waterfall

Good day,
we would very much like to hike in Jajce. Unfortunately, we don't know the paths around Cusine very well. Maybe someone can post the path from the Avnoj building to the club house (Planinarsko Drustvo) here. As a child, I hiked this path.

Hi guys,
please post this path from Elektrobosna or Avnoj to the club house here. I know there is a path over the hill to Cusina.

Regards

Translated from the entrance info board:

The legend says that after the tragic fate of two sisters, at the places of their death, two rivers sprang forth. In one river the water was clear and cold, cold to quench the thirst of all people. The river was named Zdena.

The other, longer one, named Bliha, broke against a high rock and there a waterfall was created, called waterfall Bliha, which with its leap countless sparks of light always evoke sighs and admiration of people.

...like the silky hair of a young girl, the river descended into the lowlands, flowed quietly into the calm embrace of the river Sana, its blessed mother...

A wonderful sight, how the Buna pours over more than 200m in 50 (or more) small waterfalls into the Neretva. This has cut a real ditch in the rock and flows with a lot of current ... Absolute natural spectacle!

Centar Jajca – kako sami stanovnici ovog drevnog bosanskohercegovačkog grada govore – je ‘od kapije do kapije’, a to znači od Travničke (“Donje’) do Banjalučke ili Papaz (‘Gornje’) kapije. Zapravo je to samo dio glavne gradske ulice Hrvoja Vukčiċa Hrvatiniċa, od Omerbegove kuċe do ulice ZAVNOBiH-a, te nekoliko okolnih ulica i sokaka, uključujuċi gornji dio dio Varoši. Taj uski centar grada - njegov kulturni, vjerski i nekadašnji zanatsko-trgovački centar - sa sjeverno-istočne, ‘starogradske’ strane graniče ulice Sultanije Esme i Svetog Luke (do Katakombi), u kojima se nalazi nekoliko kulturno-istorijskih znamenitosti, a na suprotnoj strani kanjon rijeke Plive.

The canals are located directly on the main road M-17 (Mostar–Čapljina). Next to the bridge, there is street parking available. The place is excellent for a short stop, walks, and landscape photography.

Natural wonder from the rock: The crystal-clear, turquoise-blue water springs directly from an impressive cave at the foot of an approximately 200-meter-high, vertical rock face.
