The Beuerbach Lake is an artificial pond that lies in a valley between the districts of Wallrabenstein, Beuerbach and Bechtheim in the municipality of Hünstetten in the Rheingau-Taunus district (Hesse). The lake is fed by the Schornbach and Klingelbach. The idea for the reservoir came from Egon Alberti, who was a member of the municipal council and a member of the Beuerbach local council at the time. On May 30, 1979, the engineer Ernst Zimmermann from Westerburg was commissioned to plan the project and on May 17, 1982 the groundbreaking ceremony took place. On September 17, 1982, the inflow lock was closed and on October 22, 1982, the "Beuerbach Participants' Association" handed the lake over to the municipality. Since then, the Beuerbach Lake has been a popular local recreation destination for hikes, walks, family outings, nature lovers and photographers. Numerous information boards document the diverse flora and fauna around the lake. The water is managed by our fishing club and we also look after the immediate surroundings. The former basalt quarry has filled with water. The water didn't shimmer blue today, but rather dark green.

Coming from the Diana fountain, take the 2nd path to get to the lake. If you take the first path, you come to a fence above the lake.

Coming from the Diana fountain, take the 2nd path to get straight to the lake. The 1st path leads up to the lake, but it ends in front of a fence.

For the hiker on the Lahnwanderweg stage 12, the restaurant is perfectly located in the middle and it is definitely recommended. A long and steady climb awaits you in the direction of Braunfels.

Recommended restaurant in the entrance area of the Weilburg wildlife park. The beautiful, old half-timbered building was reopened in 2018 after extensive renovation. https://www.hessen-forst.de/tiergarten-weilburg/
