The manor house was built in the Baroque style between 1720 and 1733 on behalf of Field Marshal Kurt Christoph von Schwerin. The estate was owned by the von Schwerin family, after whom the town was renamed in 1734. Previously, the estate was called Kummerow. The last owner until 1945 was Eberhard Graf von Schwerin. In front of the main entrance stood a monument to the field marshal, erected in 1790 by Heinrich Bettkober from Berlin. The manor house was set on fire and razed to the ground in May 1945. The park was fragmented by allotment gardens, but the park wall is partially preserved. The palace was burned down by Polish forced laborers on May 30, 1945, then destroyed and later demolished.

The manor house in Stretense is a two-storey plastered building in neo-Gothic forms. The castle, the octagonal so-called Irmgard Chapel and the preserved ice cellar still shape the village structure today.
