It's a historic yet romantic place, closely linked to Altenburg's intellectual history. It definitely needs more attention! The buildings and the surrounding grounds appear very neglected!

The so-called tea house at Nöbdenitzer Teich is a replica of the historical original. It used to be in the private garden of the manor owners. On the occasion of the Federal Garden Show in 2007, the Nöbdenitz local beautification association rebuilt the historic tea house between the ponds after over 60 years. Today the tea house is a popular rest and picnic area right on the Sprotte adventure trail. From here you have a wonderful view of the pond with island, the former Nöbdenitz moated castle and the church in the background.
