Celje Castle is arguably the most famous and largest castle ruin in all of Slovenia. In the Middle Ages, it was the seat of the Celje family – one of the most powerful aristocratic families in Europe. The castle, like the city center of Celje, is surrounded by greenery. Slovenia's largest medieval castle, a fortress on top of the hill, still towers over all roads leading to the center of Celje. After a tour, you can relax in the picturesque surroundings. https://www.visitcelje.eu/de/produkt/fuehrungen-durch-die-alte-burg-von-celje/

The Olimje Monastery, a former Renaissance castle, has stood since the 11th century. It belonged to the Counts of Pilstein. It changed hands several times throughout history. St. Emma of Gurk was also its owner. In 1663, the then owner donated it to the Pauline Order in Lepoglava (Croatia). The order, which owned the building for 120 years, converted the castle into a monastery, creating the magnificent Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the monastery with its magnificently painted pharmacy. The Pauline Order began construction of the Baroque-style church in 1665. Construction took only 10 years! The high altar was built by the Pauline monks and is one of the largest "golden altars" in Slovenia. The monastery was dissolved in 1782, and Olimje became a parish in 1785. Since 1990, the Marian shrine and parish have been administered by the Friars Minor (Minorites) of St. Francis. http://www.olimje.net/

Olimje Friars Minor Conventual Monastery is a beautiful former castle, next to the Church of the Assumption. In the monastery there's an old monastic pharmacy, where you can buy all kind of great herbal teas, tinctures and other remedies, made from the plants that monks grow and gather themselves.
