Hut Begovitsa (Formerly Kamenitsa)

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The mountain hut of BTC Begovitsa (formerly Kamenitza) is located in the northern part of the Pirin Mountains. It is located on the left bank of the Begovishka / Begovitsa River. It is a massive three-storey building with a capacity of 90 beds with shared bathrooms. There is a parking lot and three bungalows. The hut is electrified, supplied with water, heating is done with wood-burning stoves. It has a communal kitchen and a dining room.

Neighboring sights:
- Mount Kamenitsa / 2822m / - 4.00h.
- Cottage Pirin - 5.00h.
- Tekovno lake - 3.30h.
- Vihren hut - 7.00h.
- Cottage Demianitsa - 5.30h.
- Hut Sinaanitsa - 6.30h.
- Cottage Yane Sandanski - 1.30h.
- Cabin Bezbog - 7.30h.
- Mountain Kukli / 2686m / - 2.00h.
- Mountain Zuba / 2650m. / - 3.00h.

The home-made fig and blueberry ice cream is praised on the internet. Unfortunately, we had no time and did not know about it, so we are (coming from the hut Pirin) to hut Yane Sandanski.

The way from here to the hut Yane Sandanski is simply breathtaking (!) Along a torrent. One should not miss this way in any case.

In winter, the hut also operates a small ski lift.

Bai Slavi Hut at Bezbog Lake

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The tea room, grill snack bar and soup kitchen named Bai Slave (Бай Славе) is located only a few meters from the Bezbog refuge, very picturesque on the mountain lake. (Https://komoot.de/highlight/535843?ref=ihd)

The bar was closed at the end of October 2018, but the Bezbog refuge offered basic food and lodging.

Gotse Delchev Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The hut is located about 10 km south of Dobrinishte along a paved road. The Gotse Delchev Hut is located at an altitude of 1412 meters above sea level.

The building is a massive two-story structure. It has 4 rooms, a spacious common room and a modest mountain kitchen for hikers and tourists.

The Gotse Delchev Hut was built in 1950 thanks to the tourist agency Mangurtepe in the village of Dobrinishte. The cabin has electricity and running water, the toilets are in the building.

There are two shorter ski lifts and also a ski lift from Gotse Delchev to the Bezbog hut and an associated ski slope back to the valley station. On foot you need upwards about 2.5 hours.

The cottage is privately run, so the prices are slightly higher than in the other mountain huts.

On our tour from Bansko it was about 23 km walk to here. Our tour:

Sinanitsa Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The refuge is at 2190 meters and is not accessible by car. The hut seems to be provided with pack animals.

It is a BTC managed hut with 34 beds / camps. The night costs 15Lv per person. In the season, food and drink is also offered. Drinking water and toilets are outside the cottage.

During our visit in October 2018 the hut was unlocked and only secured with a wire. There was tea on the wood stove in the kitchen and there were wood, candles and matches ready. Since we had food and a spirit stove ourselves, we did not use it and are early to bed. There was no electricity.

Pirin Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The mountain hut Pirin is one of the lowest mountain huts in the Pirin mountains in the national park of the same name. It is located in the valley of the Demikapijska River at 1640 meters altitude.

We paid 15Lv per bed in October 2018. The rooms are unheated and without electricity.

In the common room you can use the socket, warm yourself at the Bollerofen and make yourself hot (for example, to use the bottle as a hot water bottle). On request, food is offered.

There is no wireless network here, so do not be surprised if you can not reach anyone by phone in advance. If Ivan has service, this also speaks German, otherwise only Bulgarian is spoken here.

There is a barbecue and a fire pit outside.

2-3 minutes below there is an inn, which also offers food and sleeping options. However, when we were there, it was already winterized and locked.

At the end of October 2018, this hut was unused, the doors closed but not locked.

Inside was a daybed and a table with two benches.

Actually this place is called "Bai Slavi". You can have launch or just drink a beer with nice view to Bezbog peak and the lake. Wonderful place in the mountain. Beautiful tracks to Bezbog peak and Popovo lake. In the winter there are vouchers for 4 days so you can relax and enjoy the nature. You can rent snowshoes and other equipment here.
