In autumn, the waterfall appears less impressive, but the gorge and the stream valley are easy to hike; surefootedness is required.

The car can be parked at the edge of the asphalt, narrow road. A short steep climb to the right of the waterfall provides enjoyable views of the falls. The trail markers lead back to the road.

A beautiful waterfall in a cascade of waterfalls. Although the place can be approached in a few minutes from the nearby road from the lower side, the best impression is when descending from the hill. The trail follows a stream that gradually grows and finally reaches a waterfall under which you can rest and enjoy.

The most picturesque waterfall in the Samobor hills is located in the canyon of Javorački potok and for a long time it was hidden from the view of local mountaineers who stumbled upon it in 1927, after returning from a trip to Japetić. Hidden in the woods, separated from the world by recently difficult roads, its noise is heard before reaching a notch down which flows a beautiful 10-meter waterfall. It is especially beautiful in spring and autumn, when the stream is rich in water, while in summer it can dry out. Until 2016, hiking to Cerinski vir required a bit more effort from mountaineers and hikers than is the case with other valuable Samobor excursion locations, but since 2016 the road to the waterfall is much more accessible thanks to the efforts of HPD Sveti Patrik members. After arranging a mountain lodge on Cerina, they cleaned part of the Javorec stream, cleared part of the trail, set up two bridges over the stream and enabled everyone who is ready for a small forest adventure to easily reach the foot of the waterfall and enjoy another pearl of Samobor hills.

Beyond the well-known Sopot Waterfall, which descends 40 meters in three parts, you can explore the picturesque Brisalo Waterfall, known for its rich water flow and the lake it often forms at its base. Another captivating spot is Vranjački Waterfall, especially stunning after rain with its 'live' tufa rock formations. Don't miss Cerinski Vir Waterfall, hidden in the canyon of Javorački Potok and considered the most picturesque in the Samobor Hills.
The waterfalls are particularly magnificent in spring or autumn when water levels are higher due to rainfall. During these seasons, the streams are full, making cascades like Cerinski Vir Waterfall especially stunning. While some waterfalls can be less voluminous or even dry out in summer, the preserved nature of the Slapnica canyon, home to Brisalo and Vranjački Waterfalls, offers a relaxing experience year-round.
Many trails leading to the waterfalls offer a great experience for families. The access to Brisalo Waterfall is relatively easy, with a trail leading upstream along the stream. The path to Cerinski Vir Waterfall has also been made more accessible, allowing for a small forest adventure. While some paths can be steep, like parts of the trail to Sopot Waterfall, many areas provide enjoyable views and opportunities to connect with nature.
The region is rich in natural beauty. You'll encounter preserved forests, picturesque landscapes, and unique geological formations. The canyons, such as the 10-kilometer protected Slapnica stream valley, offer natural amphitheaters with moss and ferns, and even small caves like the Vranjak Cave near Vranjački Waterfall.
Yes, the region holds some historical charm. Near Brisalo Waterfall, you can find Dragan's mill, which is the only inhabited house in the Slapnica canyon. Above Brisalo, the road continues to the village of Pećno, an ethnographic ensemble showcasing old Žumberak architecture. Historically, the water from Sopot Waterfall also powered a mill below, creating a unique scene in the middle of the forest.
