Very pretty, it's worth a stop! Please note: access is only permitted on foot - however, you can return by bike. The caves can only be visited with an attendant - times are available at the cave entrance.

Hiking and cooling off in the water...... simply a very beautiful area

It was beautiful here, and also much quieter because only a fraction of the people came here. But we weren't allowed to swim and after 15 minutes we were asked to leave. The measures are all sensible, but ultimately disappointing. Many paths are closed because of the high risk of fire and because of people who can't stay on the paths and throw their rubbish into the landscape.

Currently, the passage to the waterfall has been closed for safety reasons since April 25, 2024. But that doesn't seem to bother many people.

Buried in a magnificent green setting, the village of Sillans-la-Cascade is located on the edge of the Verdon Natural Park, twenty minutes south of Lake Sainte-Croix. It is a perched village like you only find in Provence, and it is very pleasant to visit. But it is above all for its magnificent 42 m waterfall that the village is famous. Go to the cool forest, discover the lagoon created by the waterfall, and swim in turquoise water! The access route to the waterfall is about 25 minutes on foot. In high season, swimming in the main basin located under the waterfall is prohibited. But it is possible to swim further downstream.
