Lake Płoń is shaped like an elongated ellipse and lies symmetrically to the axis of the river of the same name. The lake's surface area is 828 hectares, and at its deepest point, the bottom is located at a depth of 4.5 meters, with an average depth of 2.8 meters below the water surface, making it relatively shallow. Due to the muddy bottom, water clarity is poor, and dense coastal vegetation makes the shoreline difficult to access. Due to the intensive stocking of zander, it is a prime fishing spot. In addition to zander, anglers can also encounter species such as bream, perch, crucian carp, tench, and roach, and successful eel catches are also common. To legally fish, a permit is required, as the fisheries on Lake Płoń are managed by the private company Gospodarstwo Rybackie Miedwie Sp. z o.o. There is a relatively well-developed accommodation and catering infrastructure near the lake, and apart from fishing, you can also rent kayaks (from private accommodation owners).
