Top 9 Lakes around Subkowy

The pier is on Lake Płaczewskie, popularly known as Płaczewo. It is located about 9 km south of Starogard Gd. in the direction of Lubichowo. The lake surface is about 45 ha, max. depth about 5 m. In the northern part of the lake there is a small island. Szpęgawski Single Track. The route runs along the western shore of Lake Szpęgawskie. Due to its geographical location, it is a kind of prelude to Zduński Single Track, full of technical difficulties.

Zduński Single Track. It stretches along the entire length of the western shore of Lake Zduńskie. We start flat and hard. Then the ground starts to slouch and we have up and down, up and down up and down, climbing and descending. We go through makeshift footbridges placed on streams, and fallen trees do not make it easier to drive. The end of the route is almost sand, which can make you long for even, smooth asphalt. The route is 100% worth the trouble.

Speaking of "Teutonic Knights" by Alexander Ford. The scenes of the Grunwald battle were filmed in the nearby fields between the villages of Rywałd and Kolincz.

The name Jamertaler See - Lake Valley of the Languages refers to the legend dating back to the beginning of the 14th century, according to which nearby peasants drowned in this lake escaping from the Teutonic Knights inhumanly using them to build a castle in Starogard, 4 km away from this place. Since then, cries and groans of drowned people have been floating above the lake at night. I was there during the day and apart from the birds singing, I heard nothing. But at night, who knows?

The route runs near the clearing where the Juranda of Spychów castle used to be. And although the character of the knight is fictional, created by Henryk Sienkiewicz for the historical novel "The Teutonic Knights", the castle did exist. It was built in 1959 as part of the scenes shot for the film that took place among the picturesque landscapes of Kociewie. The wooden Juranda Castle was built on the lake called Jamertal. The place of existence of the object is still on many tourist maps, hence the idea to get to know it. In 1959. For the purposes of the film "Teutonic Knights", the town of Jurand of Spychów was built on this picturesque lake. Unfortunately, there are no traces of this building left to this day.

It is one of my favorite places to practice any sports activity. The terrain is hilly, so it's good for cardio training. Wide gravel paths encourage walking, running, horse riding and cycling. Narrow, winding and less accessible paths are used by amateurs of mountain biking, and the asphalt section of the Wędkowy - Leśniczówka road / especially from the side of the village of Wędkowy / by roller skaters.
