Konj is a 1803 m high peak located between Velika Planina and Presedljaj. From the top, we have a beautiful view of the highest peaks of the Kamniška Savinja Alps and Rzenik and its almost vertical north face. The registration box (also stamp) is not located at the top of Konje, but a little lower in the direction of Presedljaj. It is separated by a short steep descent along a protected climbing route.

Planina Rzenik is located north of Velika planina, more precisely on the slopes of Konj and Rzenik. From the mountain on which the shepherd's hut stands, we have a beautiful view of the Veliko planina, Rzenik and Konja, and if we climb to the western edge of the mountain, we can also see the highest peaks of the Kamniška Savinja Alps.

Crazy nice view on this part of alps, as you would have all on hand. Path to Lučki dec is not marked but pay attention to stone picramides and you will see the path.

Raduha is situated on the edge of the Kamnik Alps, separated from the rest of the mountain range by the Savinja. Due to the peripheral location, there is a great all-round view from above - you can also see Triglav and Großglockner. The shortest ascent, about 580 meters in altitude, is from the Snezna Jama car park. It is a similar distance from the Koca na Loki hut. Both points can be reached after approx. 15.5 and 17.5 km from Strmec near Luce. A good part of the route is only gravel.

For truly expansive views, Raduha Peak is highly recommended. Due to its peripheral location in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, it provides an all-round panorama where you can even spot distant peaks like Triglav and Großglockner. Another excellent choice is Lučki Dedec (2,023 m), which offers a spacious and precipitous viewpoint with beautiful vistas of Planjava, Brano, Raduha, Dleskovška planota, and Velika planina.
Yes, several peaks offer challenging ascents. Konj Peak (1,803 m) is known for its wild mountain character on one side and a protected climbing route on the other, offering a long ascent and descent. Rzenik Peak, while grassy at the top, features an imposing, almost vertical 600-meter high north wall, making it a significant challenge for those approaching from that side.
From the summit of Konj Peak (1,803 m), you can expect beautiful views of the highest peaks of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and the impressive north face of Rzenik. It's situated between Velika Planina and Presedljaj, offering a unique perspective of the surrounding alpine landscape.
For a stunning perspective of the Robanov Kot valley and its accompanying peaks, visit the View of Robanov Kot and Ojstrica. This spot is perfect for a short rest and enjoying the picturesque scenery.
The shortest ascent to Raduha Peak is from the Snezna Jama car park, which involves about 580 meters of altitude gain. To reach this car park, follow signs to the snow cave (Snežna jama) from Luče via Strmec. Be aware that the last part of the road (approximately 8 km) is an unpaved dirt road. Alternatively, you can start from the Koca na Loki hut.
While many peaks offer challenging climbs, the region also provides easier options. You can explore various easy hikes around Luce, such as the "View of the Alps and Waterfall – Logar Waterfall (Rinka Falls) loop from Podolševa" or the "Savinja Waterfall – Bridge Over the Tranquil River loop from Luče." These routes are generally less strenuous and suitable for a wider range of abilities. For more details, check out the Easy hikes around Luce guide.
Beyond peak bagging, the Luce region offers diverse outdoor activities. You can find beautiful waterfall hikes, with routes like the "Rinka Waterfall – Source of the Savinja River loop." For mountain biking enthusiasts, there are challenging MTB trails, including the "Matkov Kot Valley – View of Logar Valley loop from Luče" and routes around Velika Planina.
The mountain peaks around Luce, particularly those in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, can be accessed in all seasons. However, for winter hiking, appropriate equipment is essential due to snow and ice conditions. For general hiking, late spring to early autumn typically offers the most favorable weather, with lush alpine meadows and clearer trails.
Rzenik Peak stands out as a grassy peak surrounded by dwarf pine, which is a beautiful contrast to its imposing, almost vertical 600-meter high north wall that descends steeply towards the Kamniška Bela valley. From its summit, you get a beautiful view of the highest peaks of the Kamnik and Savinja Alps and their foothills.
While Veliki Rogatec Summit (1,557 m) might not be as frequently mentioned as the highest peaks, it offers a rewarding experience with its own unique views and challenges. Additionally, the View of Robanov Kot and Ojstrica provides a fantastic, perhaps less strenuous, opportunity to enjoy the stunning valley scenery.
