The Col du Hunsrück (748 m) is a quiet and wooded pass above Willer-sur-Thur. The steady climb and beautiful nature make this a pleasant classic in the southern Vosges, with connections to both the Thur and Dollervallei valleys.

Vieil Armand, also known as Hartmannswillerkopf, is a striking mountain peak in the southern Vosges, near the Col Amic. This place is not only popular with cyclists because of the challenging climb and the panoramic view of the Rhine plain, but also an important historical monument. During the First World War, fierce fighting took place here between French and German troops, resulting in a static trench warfare. Today, the area is a national memorial with a crypt, military cemetery and well-preserved trenches. The climb to Vieil Armand via the Col Amic is not only sportingly rewarding, but also impressive because of the historical significance of the landscape.

Like other lakes, below the Tête des Perche. However, the signage at the Col des Perche: could do better!! For the Tête des Perche or the Lac D'Alfeld... So, for the Lac D'Alfeld: follow Ballon d'Alsace until an intersection on the left. I lost an hour: got back at night!

Beautiful hike from Rimbach near Masevaux. Large parking lot by the church. After the restaurant opposite, walk a few more steps uphill. There, a trail marker leads to the left. Beautiful hillside path with a view of the village. On the way, you can visit a chapel worth seeing. At the end of the village, a stony path leads uphill to the lakes. A bank separates the two lakes. Two rocks offer an elevated spot to rest. To the left, the trail leads to Ferme Auberge Gresson and to the right uphill to Lac Perche (Star Lake).

Very nice lake for a picnic. Unfortunately, due to the change in weather in mid-September, swimming in the lake was out of the question. Cold katabatic wind from the heights prevented a longer stay.

Both lakes are beautifully situated and offer great rest areas with beautiful views. The Refuge Neuweiher is located directly on the lake.

It is possible to walk around the lake, but in the part opposite the dam you have to walk through large boulders without a path. But it is doable. The path is usually 1-10 meters above the lake surface.
