This is a super exciting and adventurous trail run up to MontaΓ±on Peak. The path is steep and comprises rocky and uneven ground, so running experience through mountainous and wild areas is recommended. It's a tough climb up, but the views across the entire Santa Cruz Islands and beautiful waters that surround it make it well worthwhile.

Great viewpoint, we thought you might be able to get down to the beach but it is off limits and hazardous.

Nice beach to have a picnic mid hike! Bring some kind of water shoe because the beach is rocky.

This is an unmaintained trail so be sure to have a map handy, it’s quite easy to go down the wrong ridge. I’d also recommend hiking poles as portions of the descent are loose rock and steep. Or you can slide down on your butt like yours truly.
