You can get a nice, panoramic overlook of Lake Mead from here. While sitting here you're on the Nevada side of the state line, but the east coast of the lake is technically in Arizona.

This hike is a very nice excursion if you are spending a few days in Las Vegas. The view of the valley is simply stunning.

The Lakeview Overlook is just a short distance from the Hoover Dam and offers panoramic views of the Boulder Basin from a higher elevation from the dam itself. To the northwest you can see Hemenway Harbor, the tunnels of the Hoover Historic Railroad, and power lines that extend out and up from Hoover Dam. To the northeast, you can see Rock, Boulder and Saddle Islands and the Muddy and Black Mountains.

Beautiful and undemanding trail…always beautiful views of Lake Mead! You can walk the trail all the way to the Hoover Dam...which is very relaxing...since there isn't that much going on on the trail! Most visitors go to the dam by car! Depending on the time of year...I would run the trail in such a way...that you walk into the sunset on the way back...unique!

As you hike along Trail #100 you will find petroglyphs on the sides of many rocks in the canyon. After passing a dry fall, you will start noticing a high concentration of petroglyphs. Archaeologists have cataloged over 1,700 different design styles in this area, so there is lots to observe! If you loop around Trail #200, the petroglyph gallery continues and then becomes more dispersed as you loop back to Trail #100.

The hot spring flows directly into the river, so after docking in the warm water you can walk up the canyon to several hot spring pools Location: on the Colorado River between Hoover Dam and Willow Beach (NV/AZ)
