Regular excursions allow for the observation of breeding and migratory birds both on the reservoir and in the adjacent floodplain forest. • Lechstaustufe 27 (Feldheimer Stausee): Designated as a nature reserve since 1982, this reservoir serves as an important breeding and moulting area for water birds, as well as a resting and wintering site for Nordic species. • Lechstaustufe 20: Near this barrage, there is a water bird paradise where hundreds of water birds gather between a bird island and the eastern bank.
