You can also just stop and watch the bikers. For anyone who enjoys riding off-road and for whom drops, tables, and step-ups are no strangers, the dirt bike track in Geesthacht on the Elbe peninsula is a welcome training opportunity. Even beginners can try out the hilly and winding course and experience cycling from a completely different perspective. Just give it a try – it's really fun to do a few laps here. The track is suitable for BMX bikes, dirt bikes, and mountain bikes. The course is open as long as it's daylight. The area next to the track also offers many recreational opportunities for young people, including a beach lounge, a beach soccer court, and a beach volleyball court. https://www.geesthacht-tourismus.de/poi/dirt-bike-parcours-an-der-elbe

Here, AI told us we'd missed the turnoff 🙈 so we went back and... who knows when someone had been here before, because even with hikers, the trail is apparently not that popular: extremely steep and rooty, you can't really see it through the leaves, and it's very overgrown... since there's a staircase nearby, hikers tend to use it more. Since my "pack leader" was of the opinion "there's no such thing as can't be done" or "if it can't be done, you'll have to push it," we struggled up it 🙈 after that, it was fine, and here, too, there are numerous unplanned trails 🙃 you just need to choose a different route/access 😉

The Gammer Weg is certainly a very popular route among mountain bikers. We wanted to know how to get back to our starting point instead of through the industrial area, and since there's another trail branching off from the Gammer Weg, we included it in our itinerary 😬🙈...but the turnoff there is the most difficult => narrow, sloping, and with a gradient (see photos, if you can see it)...I wouldn't recommend it to everyone 🚴♀️ here either, as the beginning is a bit tricky. Once you've mastered this section, the trail is actually quite enjoyable...up and down, with some nice curves, but the surface is quite good. Alongside it, there's a normal trail—no ups and downs—but we're still unsure where it came from 🤔 (perhaps on another stage 😉). Since there are many unpredictable trails there and the GPS wasn't always accurate, we missed our turnoff just before the Fahrendorfer Weg 😆

I took a wrong turn here and ended up on the MTB trail, but I fought my way through.
