Lake Bjørkvatnet is located southeast of Verdal, above the hamlet of Lysthaugen. It is situated in a densely forested area at the foot of Kvindfjellet, making it easy to combine a visit to both destinations.

The hike from the old stone bridge at car park on the Karl Johans veg is only four kilometres. It is an easy trail that gets you to this scenic lake where there is a nice hut. The view out over the lake is beautiful and the setting is very tranquil.

The river directly south of the river serves as a good spot for fetching water and for bathing. A bit north of the road, if you continue to follow the road, a nice camping spot exists as well.

The trail to Norway's geographical centre takes you through gorgeous woodland dotted by little lakes. It's a wild feeling hike to reach the monument, which was first placed in 2006.

With the bike loaded you have to push it but it's worth it

Super cool place, shelter is also equipped with enough hooks to dry your stuff. There is also a saw. I would say don't hesitate.

It's a great shelter but it's difficult to get there if you are carrying a very heavy stuff (bicycle + panniers 55kg in my case). You must push your bike for 400m, it's very steep but worth it :) Many local hikers could visit you

You have to climb 100 m on a wide forest path with a decent gradient. Once at the top, a shelter maintained by locals awaits you with a grill, firewood and a beautiful view. A place for a tent can also be found. Jackpot :)
