They're a tourist destination – we had four tours at 10 a.m.: in English, Italian, German, and Slovenian. It was a Tuesday, outside of school holidays. To sum it up: The cave system is gigantic – you're taken in and out by train – and in between, we marveled at the cathedral-like rooms formed by rivers over millions of years. A definite recommendation.

The legendary barbershop with the longest beard in Postojna has been revived with original equipment and a new story. The premises of the legendary pink house on the corner combine the concept of centuries-old tradition and legends of the Ozbič family with modern techniques of the barber and hairdresser profession. Janko Ozbič’s life has revolved around barber chairs and hairdressing techniques for more than seventy years. He had the art in his hands since the cradle and he has remembered the barbershop with which they supported themselves since childhood. At the age of 13, he took scissors in his hands and started working. He shaved and styled continuously until the age of 89, when he had to give up the business due to the changed legislation on this type of work. Today you can sit on Ozbič chairs and let yourself be pampered by master barber Luka Nebec and his team, or visit, in the back part of the salon, an exhibition about the art of barbers and hairdressers and the Ozbič family. The entrance to the Pivka Cave is located five kilometers from the Postojna Cave. You have to descend 317 steps to a depth of 65 meters, located in the campsite of the same name. The cave is five kilometers long, two kilometers of which have been adapted for tourist visits. This trail also has electric lighting. The trail runs along the Pivka River towards the Black Cave, then passes the exit to the surface and returns through the forest.

sculpture of the brave shepherd boy Jakob and the Postojna Cave dragon. Sculpture in memory of the legend of the Dragon and Jakob who defeated it. Legend has it that once upon a time, a terrible dragon lived in Postojna Cave, which everyone was afraid of. The locals called for help from the enterprising shepherd boy Jakob, who tamed the dragon by bringing him a calfskin filled with lime as a meal. When the monster took a sip of water after lunch, it exploded. To thank Jakob for his courage, the locals erected a statue at the entrance to the village and sewed a bag from the remains of the dragon's skin, and since then the people of Postojna are (we are) known as "purse-takers".
