The Church of Our Saviour (Vor Frelsers Kirke) is a striking white town church in the center of Vejle. It was built between 1904 and 1907 in the historicist Skønvirke style, as the older St. Nicolai Church had become too small for the growing population. The church impresses with its bright facade, a gilded entrance gate, and large, artistic glass mosaics in the chancel. Address: Jernbanegade 26, 7100 Vejle, Denmark The church is usually open to visitors during the day. There is a wheelchair-accessible entrance and corresponding parking spaces. The impressive stained glass in the chancel dates from 1949 and was designed by the artist Jais Nielsen. The Town Hall is a striking, historic landmark in the center of Vejle. The current neo-Gothic brick building was constructed between 1878 and 1879 according to the designs of architect Carl Lendorf and later restored by the famous architect Martin Nyrop. The current structure is already the fourth town hall in the city's history. The very first town hall from 1460 stood on Gammel Torv and burned down in 1530. It is located on a historically significant site where a Dominican monastery stood in the Middle Ages. A special feature is the town hall bell, which rings daily. It is the same bell that, in the Middle Ages, called the monks of the monastery to mass. It bears a Latin inscription, translated as: "I call the living, I awaken the dead." On the first floor of the town hall is the city council's meeting room. Furthermore, due to its elegant halls and romantic ambiance, the building is an extremely popular venue for civil weddings. The building is located directly on the city's lively pedestrian zone on Town Hall Square.
