The Egtved Girl is one of Denmark's most famous and best-preserved Bronze Age finds. Back in 1370 BC, this 16-18-year-old girl was buried in an oak coffin and was covered by a barrow. Now the site is a well-maintained open-air cultural and historical landscape site that provides a window into what life was like in Bronze Age Denmark. The site includes a reconstructed version of the barrow where the Egtved Girl was found by a local farmer. There is also a great little outdoor museum here on the site where the Egtved Girl was buried. The actual human remains and other artefacts, such as clothing and what was left of the coffin, are now permanently displayed in the National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen. Entry to the site and museum is free, but visitors are asked to register online for a ticket to secure future funding for the site. https://www.egtvedpigensverden.dk/planlaeg-dit-besoeg/gratis-billetter/ Access to here from Etgved by foot is on a path that goes partly on private land. The landowner has given access permission only by way of the marked paths (red arrows) during the hours of sunrise and sunset.

The Town Hall is a striking, historic landmark in the center of Vejle. The current neo-Gothic brick building was constructed between 1878 and 1879 according to the designs of architect Carl Lendorf and later restored by the famous architect Martin Nyrop. The current structure is already the fourth town hall in the city's history. The very first town hall from 1460 stood on Gammel Torv and burned down in 1530. It is located on a historically significant site where a Dominican monastery stood in the Middle Ages. A special feature is the town hall bell, which rings daily. It is the same bell that, in the Middle Ages, called the monks of the monastery to mass. It bears a Latin inscription, translated as: "I call the living, I awaken the dead." On the first floor of the town hall is the city council's meeting room. Furthermore, due to its elegant halls and romantic ambiance, the building is an extremely popular venue for civil weddings. The building is located directly on the city's lively pedestrian zone on Town Hall Square. Directly in front of the main entrance is a flat, ground-level water fountain, which serves as a meeting point, especially in summer. https://www.visitvejle.de/vejle/reiseplanung/das-rathaus-von-vejle-gdk607929
