Quite old and large beech trees with ducal origins. Don't forget to visit the nearby Dikke Eik (Kanselierdreef, a little further on) and the Eleonoradreef that leads off it, built at the behest of Duke Engelbert August of Arenberg, named after his wife, and with more beech trees – over 40 meters tall. One of the many wood sculptures in the Meerdalwoud. A little searching and you will definitely find the gnome girl!

A rest break after the rural fields, to then enter the lake valley forest. A natural window.

As far as I'm concerned, an ideal picnic bench. Imagine: on a warm day in the still reasonably cool forest but on the edge of vast fields and views a stone's throw from the language border and with lilies of the valley spreading their perfume behind you. Wonderful.
