The two restored lime kilns belonged to the Preußer lime works. Not far away at the railroad crossing stands Mr. Preußer's house, which he had built in the mid-1920s. As a result of the economic crisis in the early 1930s, lime production ended here; fertilizer lime, which accounted for a large portion of production, could only be sold to a limited extent.
