Idyllic there, the rooty path up, then all the rocks and the bridge over it. The stream cooling and refreshing.

Memorial stone from 1805 Next to the waterfall stands this special old memorial stone in honor of Ernst von Schwarzenberg, as thanks for his contribution to making this beautiful place accessible. A beautiful piece of history in the middle of nature.

A beautiful and stable staircase. When it rains, you have to be a bit careful due to slipperiness.

Located in the former ski area of Gaißau/Hintersee below the Wieserhörndl between Spielbergalm & Anzenberg. Very good menu with many local specialties. Grandiose view of the Schmitten and the Berchtesgaden Alps. Here you can excellently review the Alm round (Almenrunde). Also open in winter!

If you hike the route as suggested (1-2-3 etc) the last part above the waterfall is difficult, one misstep or wet wheather and it becomes dangerous/sketchy. Very beautiful there but be prepared :-)
