A great adventure. It feels like you're walking into a bottleneck that then opens up again slightly to lead you up to "Hill Castles Scar."

Beautiful market town having held a royal charter since 1282! Home of the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue team. Plenty of welcoming cafes and pubs. A walkers metropolis, plenty of tourists and cyclists.

Mastiles Lane was a Roman marching route across Mastiles and Kilnsey Moor. It became a route that the Cistercian monks used for leading sheep from Fountains Abbey and then a droving road. Today it's a nice trail to walk with historic points of interest on route.
