In the beautiful Santakis forest growing next to Valkininkai, the tourist educational trail “Žodis girios draugui” (Words for a Friend of the Forest) installed by the Valkininkai Forest Enterprise invites you to admire the Dzūki nature. Undoubtedly, the most beautiful place on the trail is the bend of the Merkis River, where an outcrop several meters high has formed on the bank constantly washed by water. At its top, there is an observation bridge, from which you can see both the outcrop itself and the Merkis bend. There are several rest areas on the trail, one of which is next to the outcrop. To make the walk more interesting, during the installation of the trail, stands were placed with questions, the answers to which you will find in the most beautiful place on the trail. The educational trail, located approximately halfway between Vilnius and Druskininkai, is a great place to take a break.
