In the middle between Tiel and Arnhem, near Zetten, you will find Landgoed De Heerlijkheid Hemmen. The history of this estate dates back to the 14th century, when a castle already stood on this spot. In 1757, a manor house was built on the foundations of the castle: Huis Hemmen. During World War II, the house was completely destroyed. Around the ruins of the old house, there is now a park with meadows and woodland. The castle garden is wheelchair accessible due to paved paths. The short route turns right at the slope and follows a winding path along the water. Along this path, you will also find 'the hollow tree'. This special Oriental plane tree is hollow inside. Via the path along the Linge river, you wind along the meadow back to the black-and-white gate. Along the meadow stands a special hedge. By cutting the plants just above the ground, they can be woven. Source and more info: https://rolstoelwandeling.nl Zetten - Landgoed Hemmen
