When the weather's nice, the bench is a great place to take a break. Unfortunately, the weather was quite unpleasant during my hike.

This is really nice in dry weather. A very narrow path through the heather. Stop and notice how thin/high the dark patch of ground is, with sand underneath. Then you realize how resilient the heather must be to survive here.

Cycling freely in the Tongeren estate is unfortunately not allowed. Although there seems to be some kind of tolerance structure in some places, the owner is not fond of cyclists. This boardwalk is a good (and clear) example of a place where they absolutely do not want cyclists.
