The branch church of St. Catherine in Müsch was built in 1787 and is a protected cultural monument. In 1972, the old chapel was expanded. The old chapel structure became the chancel, and an octagonal nave was added. The modern windows blend remarkably well with the historic part of the chapel. The churches in Wirft and Kirmutscheid also contain items from the pilgrimage church, which was abandoned around 1800. Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallfahrtskapelle_M%C3%BCllenwirft

Unfortunately, I didn't go inside. But even from the outside, it's very beautiful and worth seeing.

A very beautiful swimming (reservoir) lake in the heart of the Eifel region. The lake itself isn't very large and can be circumnavigated quickly. The sunbathing lawn quickly fills up on summer days. There's a great lakeside bar, pedal boat rentals, and a designated area for dogs. From the lake, there are numerous options for all kinds of tours.

Historic towns like Ahrweiler with its medieval walls and the scenic vineyards are also prominent features.
Yes, many sections of the no-traffic routes, especially parts of the Ahr-Radweg, are known for being relatively flat and well-maintained, making them ideal for families with children. Due to the 2021 flood, some sections of the Ahr-Radweg are still under reconstruction. However, the region has implemented Radbus (bike bus) services with bicycle trailers to bridge damaged sections, particularly between Ahrbrück and Walporzheim. It's advisable to check local public transport schedules and current service updates before your trip, especially regarding bike transport availability.
Parking options are generally available in the towns and villages along the routes, such as Blankenheim, Altenahr, Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, and Sinzig. Many starting points for popular routes will have designated parking areas. The no-traffic touring cycling routes in Westliches Ahrgebiet offer a range of difficulties. While many sections, particularly along the Ahr-Radweg, are considered easy and almost ascent-free, there are also moderate routes with some elevation gain. For instance, the Kerpen Castle – Niedereher Bach Bridge loop from Uedelhoven is a moderate route with over 400 meters of elevation gain. Overall, the region caters to both leisurely cyclists and those looking for a bit more challenge.
While the natural environment of the Westliches Ahrgebiet is generally welcoming, specific rules for dogs on cycling paths can vary. The Sahrbachtal, for example, provides idyllic round tours that are often less frequented. Additionally, routes in the upper Ahr Valley or those venturing into the Eifel region tend to be less crowded, offering a more serene cycling experience.
