Klein Venedig is the former fishing settlement of Bamberg on the left arm of the Regnitz river. The densely packed half-timbered houses from the 17th to the 19th century stand directly on the water, with small gardens, balconies, and boat docks in front of the doors – a remnant from the time when fishermen moored their boats here. The most beautiful view of the row of houses is from the opposite bank at the Leinritt, the old towpath, or from the Untere Brücke. 📍 Best perspective: Riverside path "Am Leinritt" between Untere Brücke and Markusbrücke 📷 Photo opportunity especially in the afternoon when the sun hits the facades 🚶 If you want to see the houses up close, walk through the "Fischerei" alley on the other side 🎉 In August, the Sandkerwa festival takes place here with the traditional fisherman's jousting (Fischerstechen) 🌉 Only a few steps away from the Old Town Hall – easy to combine with the river path

That's not the Baunach that flows through Zeil! The Baunach flows into the Main near Bamberg-Hallstadt-Bischberg. It's the Altach that flows through Zeil. It originates near Königsberg-Schafhof at the Queckbrünnlein spring. It flows as the Krumbach to Krum, then becomes the Altach and flows into the Main near Zeil.
