There's no bike path across the coastal highway, or for a couple of blocks from there westbound on Garfield Parkway

This is a peaceful place to breath in the salty ocean air and relax. Bethany Beach boasts golden sands, tax-free shopping and excellent restaurants. Bear in mind that you're only allowed to cycle along the boardwalk from 6 am to 9 am.

From this spot you have a beautiful view of Beach Cove. It can be reached via the Prickly Pear Trail.

Sandy and fun, the singletrack and doubletrack trail is a mix of sand, grass, and lush mats of pine needles. The Prickly Pear Trail is a beautiful, scenic trail on the bayside of Coastal Highway (Rt 1). You might see wild turkeys, great blue herons, egrets, and eastern box turtles. Some of the trail might be tricky to ride with narrow tires. And bring bug spray if you plan to stop during the warm months. The biting flies can be killer.

In contrast to the Prickly Pear Trail, this trail that runs to Fred Hudson Road is more hardpacked and tighter singletrack. This is super fun riding fast on my gravel bike. Zippy, but too short!
