The St. Joseph's Chapel in the Ramsbach district of Kalikutt was built by Ludwig Schmiederer, the former innkeeper of the mountain inn "Hotel Kalikutt," and his wife Paula. The foundation stone was laid on St. Joseph's Day (March 19) 1990, and the consecration took place six months later. Ludwig Schmiederer erected the chapel in honor of his parents and grandparents, as well as a memorial for the 17 Kalikutt soldiers who died in both World Wars. The small church is 6.4 meters long and 4.4 meters wide, has a hipped roof with a ridge turret. The ornamentation of the altar demonstrates the stonemason's skill. Depicted are the symbols of the Evangelists: five loaves of bread and two fish, symbolizing the feeding of the five thousand, as well as the five wise and five foolish virgins. The chapel stands in the middle of a small complex with benches and a memorial with the names of the fallen. Like so many things in and around the chapel, this monument was donated.

The descent is amazing. It runs smoothly, and the view is breathtaking. The ascent is nice because it's not that steep.
