The beautifully landscaped and clean campsite has a tent area, a touring area, a motorhome parking area, and a permanent camping area. You can stay overnight without a tent in the small fairy cottage during your hike and enjoy a relaxing swim in the lake. If you get hungry, there's a restaurant, and the town is also nearby. It's the municipal campsite.

Take-off point on the dyke The airfield of the Aschendorf-Herbrum gliding club is located west of the Ems and on a silted-up old arm of the river. Due to the special location near Dollart Bay, the thermals are sometimes limited, so that glider take-offs are only carried out by aircraft tow. Other special features: The runway is in the floodplain of the Ems, so that in autumn and winter storm surges on the North Sea coast can lead to flooding of the area; the club's three aircraft hangars are located at the western end of the airfield behind the winter dyke, which protects the hinterland from further flooding. The club has been active since 1970 and has been training student pilots since 1983 as a member of the German Aero Club e.V.
