Wayside Chapel of St. Peter and Paul, Baienfurt-Köpfingen (Catholic) The wayside chapel in Köpfingen, newly built in 1851, is located directly on the road from Baienfurt to Unterankenreute. It was consecrated on January 28, 1852, by Pastor Frick. The interior features a restrained color scheme, developed during the 1994 renovation. The altarpiece depicting Our Lady of Sorrows (Mater Dolorosa) dates from the war year of 1916 and is signed by Fr. Briegel of Weingarten. The painting is flanked by Baroque statues of the Apostles Peter and Paul. Various reliquaries are mounted in the altar base.
