If you visit the community center, it's worth taking a look at current exhibitions or events beforehand. The building regularly hosts changing thematic exhibitions (e.g. on history or social issues), which are often freely accessible. Events and citizen appointments are also offered there – so sometimes there's more to the building than meets the eye at first glance.

This is the only ferry across the Elbe-Lübeck Canal. It connects the communities of Siebeneichen and Fitzen. Even if you don't actually have to cross to the other side, the crossing is worth it for the experience alone. Especially since the ferry is free, but a donation is requested. The post office building, which is worth seeing and was built in 1950 and is now a listed building, is located at Lauenburger Strasse 25. It is a wide, two-storey brick building with sandstone elements, with a gable end and eaves cornice and hipped roof. The post office courtyard consists of the main building, a garage at the back and the paved courtyard with a brick wall. It is a simple post-war building in functional forms with an arcade-like corner of the building above a sloped sandstone pillar, and the entrance area can be reached via a sandstone staircase. It has seven axes on the long side and five axes on the narrow side facing the street on the upper floor, with vertical window formats with vertical lintels. It is different on the ground floor, where there is a protruding, multi-part stained glass window with the municipal coat of arms to the southeast. On the street side, the period lettering "POST OFFICE" is in delicate metal letters. The northwest side is simply designed, with a dormer window and raised access axis. The garage is a simple, single-storey brick building with a gable roof and six access gates; parts of the historic small paving stones have been preserved. The characteristic post office building from the early post-war period follows the conservative design language of the 1930s and 1940s. The post office as a functional building expresses Büchen's prominent role in the regional context. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der_Kulturdenkmale_in_B%C3%BCchen https://efi2.schleswig-holstein.de/dish/dish_suche/html/denkmalErgebnisSeite.html?objektidEingabe=37509
