You should definitely stop by the Burgdorfer Schützenhaus if you like beer. Burgdorfer 1999 beer was first brewed in the brewery. Today, the facility is still in operation, producing specialty beers. You can also enjoy a good meal and recharge your batteries at the inn. More information: https://burgdorferschuetzenhaus.ch/.

Sleeping in Burgdorf Castle? Yes, it's possible, and you can do so in the youth hostel. It's actually located in the castle itself! The rooms within the old walls have been skillfully designed in a modern style, creating a cozy atmosphere. There are various room sizes (double, family, four-, and six-bed rooms), a restaurant, and as a guest, you can even visit the castle museum for free. There's a bike room or bicycle shelter for your bike. More information about the youth hostel: https://bern.com/de/informieren/unterkuenfte/hostels/jugendherberge-schloss-burgdorf

From this point until the village of Bollodingen, the road turns into a gravel road. I would advise road cyclists to avoid this stretch of gravel and take the detour to the village of Hermiswil and ride on the busy road between Hermiswil and Bollodingen. The road on itself is of a smooth asphalted surface with no holes but during the morning and evening rush hour, this road has a lot of heavy traffic.

The Swiss National Route 84 stretches all the way from Zürich to Thun in Berner Oberland. Traverses several Swiss Cantons (ZH, AG, SO, BE) and on clear days, offering a good panoramic view of the alps. The surface is on, for the most part, very good asphalted surface with several small sections of the route are on gravel roads..
