May 11, 2026, Glückskapelle on Masenberg

The Masenberg at 1,262 m above sea level is the last high spur of the Central Alps towards the east. With its elongated mountain ridge, it separates the Vorau basin to the north and the Lafnitztal to the east.

A beautiful bike path with great rest areas. The section between Ratten and Birkfeld and Anger to Stubenberg is perfect for families! (Please note: there is no bike path between Birkfeld and Koglhof.)

July 24, 2025, Hornschmied Mill

Around the turn of the century, there were approx. 20 watermills in Miesenbach. The Hornschmiedmühle, built in 1905, originally had 2 millstones. The water was taken from the Rothallerbach, which flows into the Miesenbach. In 1951, the mill was converted to electricity generation and supplied the house and farm for some years. In 1994, it was renovated and is fully functional again. You can have a wonderful rest here on the Miesenbach water trail.
