For many years, the Weinviertel artist Ernst EXINGER has been working in Kalladorf in House 99 (Wullersdorf municipality) and also exhibits his works there. Office containers have already been set up in the garden of the house as additional creative and exhibition spaces. On a stone base, high octagonal shaft with baroque vase crowning. On the east side, in the middle of the shaft, a stone ball is attached with a chain. On the shaft is a ring and clasp. The pillory originally stood on the edge of a sunken path, near the church steps. The artist Richard Fuchs lives and works in the Weinviertel, in a rural setting, but he also has his roots in the south of Vienna, in the hustle and bustle of a large small town. His works reflect this contrast: the materials definitely come from nature, and his themes are products of a symbiosis between town and country, between outside and inside, between the rhythms of life in the city and the expressions of life in the country. Richard Fuchs blurs the boundaries between technology and nature, he succeeds in creating connections that are perhaps only possible in Lower Austria, in a way of life between urban areas and rural areas. One of his most important materials is wood: he succeeds in working the natural product - without alienation - in such a way that the properties of the material are retained in the sculptures, but the wooden sculptures develop their own forms and expressions. His wooden sculptures appear round, soft, edgeless, and are almost erotic in their aura. You want to run your careful hand over the sculptures, stroke them and touch them. But his ceramic works also appear soft and round, a little like modern baroque, and yet they are accentuated. His humor, which repeatedly breaks through in his sculptures, is subtle, not coarse, and contains ironic elements. Richard Fuchs is one of those artists who hide a little behind their own works of art - it is not the artist's personality that is important to him, nor is he staged, but for Fuchs the work of art alone is important.
