In front of this small, sacred monument—with its special dedication as a PEACE CROSS—I would like to offer the viewer a short text by Christiane Völkel, who personally describes the Apostle Paul's letter to the church in Philippi as "one of the beautiful passages that always touches my heart." Paul writes: "Do not be anxious about anything, but with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ." (Philippians 4:6-7) She comments as follows: "You really have to let these two sentences sink in word for word! They contain everything of 'Good News' (...) And another beautiful aspect that moves me in the second sentence: It says that prayer accomplishes something. Namely, finding peace within oneself and walking one's path in life from fellowship with Jesus."

On October 13, 2023, the newly designed Peace Cross was ceremoniously blessed by Pastor Krystian Lubinski. Originally placed near the old rectory, it later moved to the school and has now found its new home: at an intersection of hiking trails in Burgholz, the local recreation area of St. Peter in der Au. There, it invites you to rest and reflect as a place of prayer and silence. The cross symbolizes peace and community—a silent companion on the path through the forest and a beautiful place to pause.

A beautiful natural spot with 2 moor ponds. The paths around are nature trails with information boards. You are in the forest, so there are lots of roots in the paths - flat terrain "for practicing balance" - with consideration for hikers 🥰

The path from the Elisabethwarte is a very nice, easy gravel/forest path, which is even signposted as a "children's MTB path". At the Mostbrunnen you can buy drinks and enjoy a beautiful view over the town of Kürnberg.

From the lookout point there is a wonderful view towards the south. The view to the north can already be seen on the way up from Goldberg.
