Here, you travel along the former railway line; the bridge and track are relics of this connection from Zingst to the mainland. The former railway line to Zingst was the Darß Railway, which opened in 1910 and was dismantled after the Second World War, particularly from 1947 onwards. The tracks on the peninsula were dismantled as reparations to the Soviet Union, and service on the mainland section to Bresewitz ceased in 1947. There are currently plans to rebuild the line between Barth and Zingst (and Prerow), which is expected to be operational by 2028.

St. Ewald's Church in Bodstedt is a former pilgrimage chapel in the Bodstedt district of the Western Pomeranian municipality of Fuhlendorf. St. Ewald's Church in Bodstedt is a brick church built in the 15th century and originally served as a pilgrimage chapel. It is one of the oldest churches in the region and a blend of North German Brick Gothic and Baroque church art. A later addition from 1785 adds a round-arch window to the western part of the church. All that remains of the Darß Railway, which connected the Darß and Zingst with the mainland since 1910, brought thousands of tourists to the seaside resorts, and whose tracks were transferred to the Soviet Union as reparations after World War II, are railway embankments and the old Meiningen Bridge, a technical masterpiece built between 1908 and 1912. The bridge has a total length of approximately 470 meters; the final section was a swing bridge measuring 44 meters. It was opened for shipping by means of a rotating movement. Very cool.
