Striking stone lion statues flanking the castle park entrance - a nice photo op and a signal you're near the park.

Great stone lions, you can't say much about them as they are just statues.

In 1721, Prince Dominik Marquard zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort - from the new Catholic line of the old noble family - acquired the Lordship of Kleinheubach, including the Georgenburg, built by Georg Graf von Erbach towards the end of the 16th century, from Friedrich Karl Graf zu Erbach-Erbach. The Lordship of Kleinheubach had fallen to the Erbach family as a Palatinate fief after the last Count Philipp III von Rieneck († 3 September 1559), whose wife Margarethe was a Countess of Erbach. Dominik Marquard had the new castle built between 1721 and 1732. The plans were drawn up by Louis Remy de la Fosse, who from 1714 was the chief architect in Darmstadt in the service of Landgrave Ernst Ludwig of Hesse-Darmstadt. The work was carried out by the well-known Bavarian architect Johann Dientzenhofer (d. 1726) from Bamberg and, after his death, by the architect Rinscher from Mannheim. The sculptures were created by the Würzburg court sculptor Jakob van der Auwera. Due to its spaciousness and three-winged courtyard, the palace complex is considered to be an important late Baroque palace in southern Germany. The current palace ensemble was supplemented by several classicist buildings, the greenhouse (1780), the servants' building (1807–1824) and the riding school (1812). The palace chapel was painted in the Nazarene style in 1870 by Eduard von Steinle, Leopold Bode and Ferdinand Becker. The current owner of the complex is the Prince of Löwenstein Foundation, represented by Alois Konstantin Prince of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg.

The Main Gate was the access to the Main and later also to the ferry. The gate proved to be an obstacle for the ever-increasingly large wagons (long timber, stones) that had to bring their cargo to the pier, so that by 1850 it had become a ruin and was demolished in 1866. The demolition material was used to build the bridge ramp and the extension to the parish church in 1890. After the demolition, no tower was built, but instead a gate-like structure was built further towards the Main; only here no round arch was built, instead two imitation towers with battlements were built facing each other, which were removed when the Main Bridge and the bridge ramp were built in 1890, so that nothing of the Main Gate can be seen today.
